Touching down in Bali — with family and friends who came from the U.S., The Gambia and France — felt like stepping into a dream I’d been manifesting for years.
Lush gardens, peaceful courtyards, and that unmistakable Balinese serenity greeted us the moment we arrived at Dwa Chandra — the sanctuary for our first few days and exactly the energy I prayed for to set the tone for this experience.

As we entered the premises, oohs and aahs were all I could hear from my esteemed guests. The property and grounds were beyond what I had seen in photos and videos I watched endlessly over the past year and half.
The villa’s team led us to the living room where I had a little surprise waiting: a beautiful spread of hors d’oeuvres paired with engraved young coconuts — each one personalized with the Kizi Travel Experience logo.

The reactions were priceless and honestly, seeing my logo printed or stamped on a coconut was surreal!
Needless to say, we were off to a perfect start for the upcoming celebrations.

But the real magic unfolded later that evening.
As golden hour softened the sky but then transitioned to a bit of rain (which cleared up, THANK GOD), we gathered for a private outdoor welcome dinner with pool views and the smell of fresh seafood being cooked on the grill by an amazing catering team.
It was my way of thanking my guests for journeying so far to celebrate and expressing how truly grateful I was for their presence.

Just when everyone thought the surprises were done, the sound of drums filled the air and a group of traditional Balinese fire dancers stepped into the courtyard.
The ladies had no idea this was coming, and watching their faces light up and hearing their cheers made every moment of planning worth it.
It was the perfect beginning — beautiful, intentional, culturally rich, and overflowing with gratitude.
Day 1 reminded me exactly why I love curating experiences:
Joy is in the details, and the memories are made in the moments no one sees coming.
